Aoyagi Susumu

Description:

Susumu Aoyagi launches his own label and releases new music for the first time in a long time! Susumu Aoyagi will release Liszt's "Pilgrimage Year 1 Switzerland" as his first new release in a long time. He started an independent recital series "Room with Liszt" in 2006, focusing mainly on Liszt's works, and has been holding concerts to conclude his own year-long performance activities. He has been working on the piano and Liszt's music again, and has been refining these works. The result is this album. The first piece, "William Tell's Cathedral," is a large scale piece that reminds one of a large temple, and its polished tone is mesmerizing. In the fourth piece, "By the Fountain," the delicate technique of expressing the shimmering of water and poetic expression are beautifully balanced. The tension expressed by the magnificent technique in the fifth piece, "Storm," the nearly 14-minute ballad, and the depth of musical expression in the sixth piece, "Obermann's Valley," which expresses the anguish and conflict of the protagonist's heart, are worthy of marveling. Through this album, Susumu Aoyagi himself announces the birth of a "new Liszt player. In addition, he has announced the launch of his new label "Saules Bleus" (Blue Goat), which will be his production base for the future. Please keep an eye out not only for this list album, but also for his future works. Susumu Aoyagi was born in Nicaragua and began playing piano in the United States at the age of five. After returning to Japan, he won first prize at the All Japan Student Music Competition. While a student at Toho Gakuen School of Music, he received the Nishinippon Music Award and studied at the Berlin University of the Arts. After winning a prize at the International Ron Thibault Competition, he performed at the Japanese Embassy in Paris, Radio France, and in various places from the former West and East Germany to the United States. He won first prizes at the Haen, Casella, and Bolino International Piano Competitions, and began performing in Japan around 1997, receiving the Aoyama Music Award in 2000. He was awarded the 28th Chopin Society of Japan Prize. She has released eight solo albums and two chamber music albums, all of which have been highly acclaimed, and in 2006 began a series of self-organized recitals focusing on Liszt's works, "Room with Liszt," which has since become the conclusion of her year-end performance activities. He has performed with numerous orchestras in Japan and abroad, and has earned the trust of many well-known artists. In March 2012, he made his debut performance at the Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall, receiving rave reviews in the local media. She has also served as a jury member for the Japan Music Competition, the Tokyo Music Competition, and the Haen International Competition, and has participated in the jury of the Takamatsu International Piano Competition since its inception. He studied under Katsuko Ugata, Yuko Fujimura, Fujiko Yamada, Yasuko Yamada, Joe Boatwright, Lily Krauss, Klaus Helwig, and Pascal Deuillon. He continues to perform widely while serving as professor at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, guest professor at Senzoku Gakuen University, guest professor at Sapporo Otani University, and music director of the Nagasaki Ojika International Music Festival.
