Debut album from the young blues/ragtime/roots/folk singer/guitarist MUIREANN BRADLEY, based in Ballybofey, Donegal, Ireland! She was influenced by her father, who introduced her to the old blues and guitar at a very young age. After posting a video of herself playing on Youtube, she became the talk of the town, and was discovered by JOSH ROSENTHAL, making her debut on TOMPKINS SQUARE. Anyway, check out his cover of MISSISSIPPI JOHN HURT's classic "RICHLAND WOMAN BLUES"! The acoustic guitar and lovely vocals create a synergy that rivals the warmth of the original song, making this a superb cover. All tracks were recorded live in the studio, and most of them are first or second takes.Furthermore, this debut album is full of pure charm, having been produced without the use of overdubs or modern recording tricks. This is my first album. Most of the songs on it were recorded by great blues men and blues women who released records in the 1920s and 1930s, and in some cases into the early 1970s. I grew up immersed in these old blues in the hills overlooking the Finn River valley on the outskirts of the town of Ballybofey, Donegal. My father would play the music at home, in the car, wherever he went, and talk about it endlessly, whether anyone was listening or not. He talked about the legends, the myths, and the lives of the musicians as if they were the evening news.
