The ensemble is one of the ensembles of Musik i Uppland. The three concertmasters are Nils-Erik Sparff, Clara Helgren, and Bernd Rüssel. Estonian Paul Magi (1953-) has been the principal conductor since 2004.The Psala Chamber Orchestra has recorded for a variety of labels, and Mozart's Violin Concerto (SCD1158), with concertmaster Sparff playing the solo, was the talk of the town for its fresh and free-spirited performance.
