An unreleased album that was made at the same time as Pitchfork's "NEIGHBORHOODS," a 1975 masterpiece that was selected as one of the "Top 50 Best Ambient Albums," has been unearthed and released from the warehouse! The album was reissued by FREEDOM TO SPEND under the umbrella of RVNG INTL. as a phantom work of delusional ambient music, and it attracted much attention, and the analog copies sold out immediately. Ernest Hood's unreleased "BACK TO THE WOODLANDS," which was produced at the same time as "NEIGHBORHOODS," exists! This lost album has been restored from the original tapes, remastered, and released to the public! Like "NEIGHBORHOODS", "BACK TO THE WOODLANDS" blends zither, synthesizer, flute, and field recordings to create a "handmade new age/ambient" sound that was created too early. I'm surprised that such a wonderful unreleased work has been lying dormant.While "NEIGHBORHOODS," based on field recordings made during an extensive trip to Oregon, evokes nostalgia by recording the traces of human activity in the form of sound, this album is different from its predecessor in that much of the material was recorded from nature. The CD version also includes another previously unreleased work, WHERE THE WOODS BEGIN, which was recorded at the same time.
