The artist has been described as \"an artist whose presence and voice are like magic, but when she plays the kantele, nature itself seems to tremble with joy.\" Sinicka's music ranges in its expressive arc from the archaic to the experimental. Although rooted in folk forms, his vision is broad, and \"Wind and Sun\" calls for a particularly resourceful interpreter. This work forms a new group for Langeland. It is an optimal assemblage of Norway's leading musicians. Matthias Eijk on trumpet, Trygve Seim on saxophone, Mats Eillettsen on double bass, and drummer Tomas Strenen, each of whom is a bandleader in ECM, all contribute ideas to the ongoing musical conversation and, as Sinikka says, \"their wonderful improvised solos to take things even further.\" This time Sinikka has used the text of a song as the text for a piece by one of Norway's most important contemporary writers, the poet and novelist Jørgen Fosse, who is also a member of the Norwegian National Society for the Arts.Fosse describes the writing process as \"an act of listening,\" and in his work he wrestles with questions of faith that resonate with Sinicka's admiration for the \"mysticism of nature.\" The work was recorded in September 2022 at Rainbow Studios in Oslo and mixed in March 2023 at Bayerischer Ton Studios in Munich.
