The Rare Feelings, led by bassist Rick Mason, are finally reissuing the world's first official reissue of this classic rare groove album, renowned for its superb groove and vintage-inspired artwork! This album was recorded in Philadelphia in 1977 by Rare Feelings, a band led by Rick Mason, who supported the band's groove as a bassist, songwriter, arranger, and producer.This is one of those rare diggers that every soul and funk hard digger wishes they could have, and they were lucky enough to get their hands on, and it's not only the sound but also the vintage-inspired artwork that makes it a superb gem! Rick Mason's bass roars, the organ and horns fold in and out, and a faintly haunting vocal (?) enters, blended with an exquisite psychedelic feel. The opening track "Rare Feelings" (M1) blends an exquisite psychedelic feel with slap bass and a swirling intro, and the tension is quickly raised by the raging horns and organ, but then the song suddenly changes to a mid-tempo with another haunting vocal intertwining with "Dope" (M2). The way it leads to "Dope" (M2), which is a sound worthy of being called "rare groove"! The instrumental number "Metamorphosis Funk" (M6), with its continuous drum fill-in, fast cutting guitar and solo, and flute lead, not to mention bass and organ, is also sure to get the floor going. This is the first official reissue in the world!
