In 1988, he received a government scholarship to study at the Moscow Conservatory. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1994 at the top of his class, and continued his studies at the graduate school. After further studies at the graduate school, he was recommended as a concertmaster of the Soviet State Symphony Orchestra, but returned to Japan in 1997 after nine years of study in Moscow. In the same year, he was nominated by Seiji Ozawa to be the concertmaster of the New Japan Philharmonic, and in 2000 he was appointed as the solo concertmaster. This CD is a live performance at Kioi Hall in June of this year. In the first half of the concert, he played two sonatas with his brother, In-soo Choi, and in the second half, he played a concerto with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.＜The orchestra's individuality is not driven by someone else, but rather by all the orchestra members, who all face the music.
