This new Japanese art song compiles memories from his childhood as he pays tribute to his late mother. “Mimiraku no Shima” is a scenic spot celebrated in song since the Man’yōshū era—a legendary place where it is said, “If you go to the island of Mimiraku, you will meet the dead.” It is located on Fukue Island in the Goto Islands of Nagasaki; the port from which Kukai and other envoys to Tang China set sail is now called \"Miiraku Port.\" The title track, \"Mimiraku no Shima,\" is a masterpiece by opera composer Eiko Shirakashi. In addition, “Summer Music Box” (composed by Yuichi Watanabe) was featured in the film *The Life of Guide Dog Quill*, starring Yasuko Sawaguchi, while “I Wish” (composed by Yuriko Nakamura) was written for the legendary opening theme of the TOKYO-FM program *JETSTREAM*. “I Want to Be Alone” (composed by Kazusa Niikura) is a challenging piece arranged in a hip-hop style.
