Later, with the rise of the Nazis, he defected to the United States. He gained popularity as a film music composer in Hollywood, but was again exiled for political reasons, and in his later years devoted himself to editing his own film music in East Germany. This \"Leipzig Symphony\" was an unfinished work. The composer Medek, a follower of Eisler, selected various materials from existing Eisler film music to complete the work. The \"Funeral Music\" is also music that was completed in 2015 with supplementary editing by J. Bruns and T. Fasshauer. The last piece on the album, \"Night and Fog,\" was composed by Eisler himself for French film director Allen Rene.
