Description:

From the purity of the domino mask to the soul of purgatory, the 18th-century human figure depicted in rosewood. Born in Paris, France during the absolute monarchy of Louis XIV, François Couperin (1668-1733) was active as an organist and clavezan player at churches in Paris and the Palace of Versailles. The beautiful works played in the gorgeous salons of the court are brought back to life in various colors by the Steinway made in 1887. The glimmering of candles, mysterious masks, a skit being performed, or the sun shining through the trees and birds chirping in the garden. The glimmering candles, the mysterious masks, the skits performed, the sun shining through the trees in the garden, and the birds chirping... It is not only gorgeous, but also a little sad and nostalgic, reminding us of the court scene of that time. The instrument used is a New York Steinway made in 1887 with a very beautiful rosewood body, which was loaned to Carnegie Hall and other venues until 1925. The expression that changes from piece to piece, the rich overtones, the wonderful expressiveness of the weak notes, and the deep flavor that recalls the dawn of the golden age of classical music, a time when romanticism and entertainment coexisted... The indescribable, withering melancholy of this instrument can never be expressed by today's pianos.
