Mao Fujita, a pianist with a meteoric rise to fame, finally made her debut performance at the 2022 Lucerne Music Festival on film! The Lucerne Festival was a highlight of the year 2022 for Mao Fujita, and her debut performance at the festival attracted a great deal of attention from classical music fans, making this a release that cannot be missed. This is a concert video that is sure to be coveted by fans as it features Riccardo Chailly, a master musician representing the contemporary music world, and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, a virtuoso orchestra of the world's most famous musicians. Mao Fujita and Riccardo Chailly performed together for the first time in March 2022, and soon after, Chailly offered to perform at the Lucerne Festival in August 2022. The Lucerne Festival began in 1938 under the direction of Toscanini, and in 2003 Claudio Abbado founded the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, which is one of the most traditional and prestigious music festivals in Europe. The program was the Piano Concerto No. 2 by composer Rachmaninoff, who celebrated the 150th anniversary of his birth in 2023. This famous piece is widely known not only among classical music fans, as it has been used in many movies and dramas. Rachmaninoff composed four piano concertos, but this No. 2 is the most popular and most frequently performed. The concerto is full of highlights: a profound first movement, a sweet, sad, and beautiful melody in the second movement, and an impressive climax in the third movement.
