Fisher’s approach to the music of Franz Joseph Haydn draws on recent insights into historical performance practice while leveraging the rich expressiveness he has cultivated through opera and orchestral work, resulting in distinctive performances that combine power with a sense of playfulness. The orchestra possesses supple agility, infusing the music with a lively dynamism through its driving tempos, vivid dynamics, and clear articulation. Ingenuity is also evident in the bowing techniques, further broadening the range of expression. Fischer previously led the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra in recording the complete Haydn symphonies at Esterházy Palace; for this project, however, he has further refined the ensemble’s structure and expression, achieving a tighter sound and agile phrasing. While the influence of early music performance is evident, the flexible style permeating the entire orchestra creates a natural flow of music.\nThis recording features the final three symphonies of the so-called “Paris Symphonies.” These works were composed by Haydn, now free from his exclusive contract with the Esterházy family, at the request of the Parisian ensemble, the Concert de la Loge Olympique. True to the skill of a composer with vast experience in both compositional technique and creativity, the works share the classical four-movement form yet are rich in variety; the three symphonies included here are astonishingly diverse. No. 84, in which the woodwinds paint a rich tapestry of colors; No. 85, beloved by Queen Marie Antoinette of France; and No. 86, the largest and most brilliant of the Paris Symphonies. In these three works, where tradition and innovation intersect vividly, Haydn’s mastery as a symphonic giant is displayed in its entirety.\n*The Japanese edition includes a liner note by music critic Takuya Katagiri.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Naxos","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":52637714776353,"sku":"4589538832308","price":16.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4589538832308.jpg?v=1777964276","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-fi\/products\/4589538832308","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
