Following the acclaimed previous album, \"Book of Life\" is a story that draws out the maximum potential of the vibraphone and connects conflicting images to complete the story. In the new album, \"Book of Life,\" as in the previous albums, the vibraphone, an instrument that has a relatively short history and is rather underrepresented in the orchestral and jazz worlds, is spotlighted to explore a new sound. Fujita, who has a background as a drummer, began exploring experimental approaches such as placing aluminum foil and beads on the keyboard after switching to the vibraphone. On \"Fog,\" one of the songs on the new album, he uses a combination of a cello bow and mallets, and on the title track, \"Book of Life,\" he uses the handle of the mallets to create a unique texture. Fujita's focus on the vibraphone while incorporating these special techniques makes him stand out from the crowd. Fujita's ambient and contemporary compositional style is unique in that he has devoted his life as an artist to this fascinating, yet often overlooked, instrument.I believe that the vibraphone has the potential to produce some of the most fascinating and interesting sounds ever heard. I think the vibraphone has the potential to produce more fascinating and interesting sounds that have not been heard before. I feel there is much more to explore with this wonderful sounding instrument.\" Fujita has also released two albums under the name El Fog, where the vibraphone is mainly used as a supporting instrument to the finely composed electronic sounds. Like his instrument, he sometimes works as a collaborator rather than a front man, collaborating with a wide variety of artists of great talent with whom he shares an affinity. One of his most prolific collaborators is the innovative German producer Jan Jelinek. The dialogue between the two presented in the new work \"Schaum\" blurs the boundaries between Fujita's vibraphone and Jelinek's spinning loops.Other notable collaborations include the experimental \"Needle Six,\" an improvised session with British electronic artist Guy Andrews for BBC Radio 3's \"Late Junction. The 30-minute piece, which captivates and draws the listener into its world, was released on Record Store Day 2016. The fact that his labelmate and friend, Berlin-based Nils Frahm, mastered \"Stories\" also adds meaning and flavor to the fact that the album is now being reissued on Erased Tapes.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Dynamic Tension","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":44067633758497,"sku":"4532813341392","price":16.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/products\/4532813341392.jpg?v=1668916440","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-fi\/products\/4532813341392","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
