In 2018, TakeoSAGA released his first jazz album, “Teal,” with his band SAGATrio, to critical acclaim. He followed that in 2021 with “SustainablePoP,” which expanded the boundaries of pop music with jazz elements. He has also contributed to multiple albums by WASEI “JJ” CHIKADA, who played the role of DJ in the cult anime “Serial Experiments Lain”—a series that has garnered a worldwide fan base since 2020. In 2022, he released the digital album “Toward Wired,” a tribute to the anime, to widespread acclaim. He subsequently became deeply immersed in folk music. Now, he is set to release “Meta Ryukyu,” the culmination of this journey. KYANASUN has gained acclaim for his superhuman drumming—which evokes a deep love for and nostalgia for video game music on social media—and is active globally, having performed at “MAGFest,” the world’s largest video game music festival.
