In 1985, he won the highest Italian prize at the 11th International Chopin Piano Competition, and in parallel with the complete works of Bach, he recorded two of Stravinsky's masterpieces, \"Petrushka\" and \"The Firebird\" for solo piano! Composed in 1911 for Diaghilev's Russian ballet company, the three movements from \"Petrushka\" were arranged for solo piano ten years later in 1921. Soláč faces two masterpieces of ballet originally composed for large orchestra on one piano: \"The Firebird\" in its entirety, which Stravinsky himself completed for solo piano based on the 1910 full-length version. By fully demonstrating his own virtuosity, he skillfully expressed the bold tonal shifts, rich colors, and even refined details of Stravinsky's ballet music on the piano.The combination of the superb technique of the Italian virtuoso and the solo piano brings out a new charm of Stravinsky's masterpiece ballet.
