This time, La Tempétite faced Rachmaninov's \"All-night Prayer,\" a difficult piece that conductor Bestion says was innovative for its time because of its complex technique of treating the chorus like an orchestra, despite its seemingly simple impression. Bestion, who was deeply moved by the work, adopted the technique of alternating with Byzantine chant in order to place it within the liturgical context of the Orthodox Church ceremonies he had experienced in Russia and Romania. This is a very interesting album with a much greater depth of religious music.
