Rasmussen is thus a lover of works from the Italian Baroque period, and in the current release he presents two concertos with baroque violin and baroque oboe as solo instruments, accompanied by period instruments. The melody and harmony are modern, but the idyllic tones of the instruments played call for a mismatch, giving the work a curious flavor. The violin concerto \"Sinking into the Mirror of Dreams,\" recorded at the same time, is a large work of over 30 minutes. Violinist Anne Su's superb technique is on full display.
