The tracklist includes works by Kyōhei Tsutsumi and Reiko Yukawa—artists who directly influenced Nishijima—as well as Eichi Ōtaki, whose approach to “pop music research and practice” commands Nishijima’s deep respect.\n\n■After two tours of China with NONAREEVES, as well as successful solo performances in Taiwan and across Asia, Gota Nishijima has taken a fresh look at Japanese pop music. The result is eight ultimate tracks that densely encapsulate its charm.\nBorn in 1973, he grew up immersed in the Japanese music that emerged from 1980—the “dawn of a new era”—and has now updated it for the present day from his unique perspective.
