Keith Jarrett Archives Collection|20 masterpieces of solo, trio, and quartet recordings by ECM's leading pianist, all reissued in paper jacket and UHQCD.
Keith Jarrett's ECM discography includes solo improvisations, duets, trios, quartets, original compositions, multi-instrumental ventures, masterpieces of classical repertoire, extensive Great American Songbook explorations, and much more. The result is a vast and widely acclaimed body of work over the decades, the diversity of which is entirely unique in the world of recorded music.
Jarrett's involvement with ECM began in November 1971, when he and producer Manfred Eicher first collaborated on a solo piano album, Facing You (released in 1972), which would become a major influence. Keith Jarrett's importance as an improviser no longer needs to be emphasized, but as John Rockwell of The New York Times put it, he is "a first-rate classical pianist." Beginning in the late 1980s, Jarrett expanded his repertoire with a series of acclaimed classical recordings releases, he has expanded his repertoire and, as a prolific composer, his own compositions. His masterpiece "Cologne Concert," which revolutionized the concept of the solo piano concert, is considered the best-selling piano album of all time, selling over 4 million copies.
