The latest reissue of Neumann's first \"Our Fatherland\", a masterpiece from his days with the Gewandhaus Orchestra. This is a masterful performance in which the expression is more rigorous than that of the later Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, and one can strongly feel his passion for the work. Excellent recording. World's first SACD release! Mastered only in the analog domain and converted directly to DSD! This is the 8th SACD hybrid version of the latest reissue project of ETERNA's original analog tapes in Japan. This is a new reissue from the original analog master tapes. The masterpieces from the year before \"Prague Spring\" have been vividly revived. After this, Neumann succeeded Ančerl as Chief Conductor of the Czech Philharmonic (1968-89), and \"Our Homeland\" was session recorded by SUPURAPHON in 1975 (reissued as Tower SACD hybrid disc on TWSA1068 in March 2020), and later recorded live as well. The 1967 version is often compared to the 1967 version because Neumann's approach to each piece is the same, but the performances are different. The most important difference is the difference in orchestras, mainly in the wind instruments used, and the difference in sound quality due to the different labels and recordings.Otherwise, I think it is largely in Neumann's stance. As is the case with other conductors, there is a kind of tension and high tension that occurs when a Czech conductor performs with a non-Czech orchestra. The high quality of the Gewandhaus Orchestra at that time definitely had an influence, and there may be a difference between a nostalgic attitude and a sense of security and stability. The recording differs from the SUPRAPHON in that it is a very solid, instrument-oriented recording, where the engineer Streuben's virtuosity shines through. Although it is not as well-known as the SUPRAPHON recording, this recording is another answer to Neumann's question, and is also a masterpiece representing this music. The original analog master tapes from the home country used in this project remained in good condition. Therefore, as with the previous recordings in this series, the sound quality of this recording is very high, and it is well worth listening to. The performance standard of the time and the tone of the instruments used can be clearly heard. Although this style has been inherited since then, we are reissuing these recordings in the belief that there should be a need for appropriate reissuing from the standpoint of recording history.
