Recorded at Army Street Studios in 1979, this is the closest the world's first true heavy metal blues band came to sounding like they did when they were reborn in the late 70s and enjoyed great success with their million-selling debut album "VINCEBUS ERUPTUM"! This is a rare reunion recording. Produced by Eric Albronda and Jim Keeler In 1972, Dickie Peterson walked out of the studio declaring the end of Blue Cheer after punching a drummer who tried to give him carrot juice to drink......The sixth LP, "OH! PLEASANT HOPE Despite Lester Bangs' rave reviews in Rolling Stone magazine for the band's sixth LP, the band's demise came as a result of something like this. Peterson, by his own admission, had struggled for years with drug and alcohol addiction, but he had no intention of giving up on his band.In 1974, the demo he made with Kim Foley was quite good, but it didn't lead to a Blue Cheer reunion recording contract; five years later, Dickey started working again with guitarist, singer, and songwriter Tony Rainier (his brother had been a Blue Cheer roadie before his death in Vietnam) and drummer Michael Fleck. Seven additional bonus tracks not included on the LP are included.
