However, after being expelled from the Union of Soviet Composers, he was not only deprived of his activities, but also suffered severe persecution, including arrest and imprisonment in 1937 for \"anti-Soviet propaganda\" and forced labor for eight years. The Harp Concerto, one of the two works on this album, was written under difficult circumstances and influenced by the works of his teacher, Glière, and the harp plays elegant music while the orchestra creates a mournful atmosphere.
