Having demonstrated her talent to the full in the first collection (8.573885), she continues to study every detail of Jolivet's mysterious and spellbinding works in this second collection, and gives an expressive performance backed by the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jimeno. The centerpiece of the album are two concertos, the first of which was composed in 1949 for an examination at the Conservatoire de Paris, and in which Jolivet's lyricism is on full display as the strings and flute blend beautifully. The Concerto Suite (Flute Concerto No. 2), composed in 1965, is a thrilling melody with elements of folk music, and is a masterful work that makes full use of the flute's superb technique.
