Many of his works are based on the motif of destruction and rebirth, and his previous work, Symphony No. 5 \"Our World\" (8.573163), had a grand theme, but this \"Resurrection\" has an even stronger message. This is Brotons' (1959-) first work for wind band, and although it was written early in his career, it is probably one of his most performed works. The contrast between the tension-filled battle scenes and the slowly regenerating scenes of hope and peace is like a beautiful painting. Symphony No. 6 is also a work for wind band, and the title \"Concise\" means \"simple\" or \"concise,\" and the entire piece has a relatively short, crisp style. It was composed as a free piece for the 2012 Valencia Band Contest. As the name suggests, \"Obstinacy\" is characterized by persistent and incessant rhythmic repetition. The final piece, \"Ballade of the Emigrants,\" is a Catalan folk song beautifully and impressively played on the tenora (a kind of oboe), a Spanish folk instrument, and is sung in various different forms thereafter.
