He established a deep friendship with Brahms and became especially well known for his choral and orchestral conducting, and made a significant contribution to the city's music scene by hosting concerts in Münster with prominent musicians when he was appointed director of the music association. Although his time as a composer was relatively short, he wrote piano music, chamber music, choral works, and symphonies. The symphony was written while he was still a student at the Conservatory and shows the influence of Brahms. When Grimm conducted the symphony himself, the second movement, the Funeral March, and the third movement, the Scherzo, were well received. It is a large work with a playing time of about 42 minutes. The \"Second Suite in Canon Form\" was dedicated to Brahms and consists of four movements with baroque passages and melodies reminiscent of J.S. Bach's works, giving it a quaint appearance. This is a sympathetic performance by an orchestra from a place with which Grimm is closely associated.\n\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Cpo","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51443727466785,"sku":"4589538823290","price":25.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4589538823290.jpg?v=1751380703","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-ec\/products\/4589538823290","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
