From then on, his career flourished, and this Symphony No. 2—composed between 1906 and 1907—has also gained great popularity for its overflowing melodic beauty and dramatic musical ideas. This recording of the Second Symphony—the second installment in Kitaenko’s collection of Rachmaninoff symphonies—is, as one would expect from Kitaenko, who has a well-established reputation for performing Russian works, simply flawless. From the very opening—the richly lyrical strings, the spirited woodwinds, and the triumphant roar of the brass—everything is perfect. The “Vocalise,” another masterpiece included as a bonus track, is sung by Sabadus, one of the finest countertenors of our time. His ethereal voice lulls the listener into a dreamlike state.\nNaxos Japan\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Oehms Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":53595401617697,"sku":"4562240277926","price":21.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4562240277926.jpg?v=1790480987","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-ec\/products\/4562240277926","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
