The BMX Bandits began as an ever-expanding musical family that included members of The Vaselines, The Pastels, The Pearlfishers, and Teenage Fanclub, rather than a traditional band of the same four or five faces.In 2014, Duglas conceived the album Dreamers On The Run. However, he became ill and the project was put on hold. During the lockdown, Duglas was asked to do the soundtrack and chose multi-instrumentalist Andrew Pattie as his primary collaborator on the project.
