She has been writing songs since she was a teenager, and has appeared on stage as a member of bands and as a solo singer/songwriter. This year marks the 35th anniversary of her album debut, and she is a veteran rock artist. This year marks the 35th anniversary of her debut album, "ONE WAY OUT. This album is a so-called "treasure" collection of songs she wrote from the late 1980s to the early 1990s that have never been released before. The impetus for this work came several years ago when I was gathering materials to supervise an anthology box. She accidentally unearthed songs and demos from several decades ago, and while re-listening to them, she remembered the beginning of her career and how these songs did not fit into the albums she was making at the time. Some of them were pre-debut songs that she had been hesitant to release for a long time, but she thought they would be perfect for the box set. In 2013, she entered Henson Studios in Los Angeles and began recording with her original band (Fritz Lewak, John Shanks, and Kevin McCormick) to breathe new life into these unreleased songs. Shortly after these new recordings were completed, she parted ways with her then-label, and as a result, the box set was shelved. Melissa began work on a new album, and once again these songs were buried. However, another opportunity presented itself.In 2020, when Melissa was sorting through her old files for her streaming platform, Ethridge TV's "Friday Night Time Machine" show, she decided to share these songs with her fans. This is how her early unreleased songs finally saw the light of day. The album "One Way Out" also includes two other songs from a live performance at the Roxy in Los Angeles in 2002. She has announced a U.S. and European tour this fall and next summer, and is, of course, ready to perform songs from this latest album. I'm so happy to be able to share these songs with my fans," she said. Even after all these years, these songs still move me and I can't wait to share them with you live," Melissa says of the album. The songs are a treasured way to get to know Melissa better, and now they have been given a new lease of life and are finally available for fans to enjoy.
