Marie Majoie Hajary (1921-2017): Born in Suriname to Indian parents and raised in Amsterdam, she immigrated to France and became active as a pianist in contemporary music and jazz. After immigrating to France, she became active as a pianist in the world of contemporary music and jazz. She was also active in the French music scene as a translator and left behind an instructional book for pianists. With such a unique career, she recorded "La Passion Selon Judas" ('70), arranged by Roger Guerin and backed by the best musicians in France. A perfect fusion of psychedelic, funk, Indian music, and jazz elements, this album is the very essence of her career. At the same time, it is a deep and spiritual jazz that blends with the experimental jazz scene in France, including Jeff Gilson. The opening track "Prologue" was included in the "Fusion Global Sounds" compilation by Favorite Recordings, a popular French AOR/FUSION label.
