Ensemble Op.Cit led by Guillaume Bourgogne recorded a French sung version of "The Clown Possessed by the Moon". The Clown Possessed by the Moon" is one of the most ambitious works of Schoenberg's atonal period. Based on Albert Giraud's famous collection of poems, the 21 melodramas are textually based on Otto Erich Hartleben's translation from the German. This album features Giraud's poems in a modified French version. Faithful to Schoenberg's rhyme scheme, it reaffirms the expressiveness and rhythms prevalent in the cabarets and theaters of the 1900s, which made the work so appealing. The album also includes an instrumental ensemble version without vocal parts. It is a very interesting album. (King International) Contents Schoenberg: 1.
