In 2020, in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, he produced his latest work, "OVERLAP," in a log house in the mountains of Chiba Prefecture, where he decorated the interior of his studio. The album consists of 17 tracks, including one Rap song, one Song, and all Instrumental tracks, and is about 50 minutes long, with elements of House, Jazz, Funk, and Dub. The album features musicians such as guitar, bass, trumpet, and saxophone, and is filled with field recordings of "natural sounds" made in the ocean, mountains, and other natural environments, which are used as sound effects throughout the album. The album is a thicker and more profound work by incorporating Scratch into most of the songs. The seventh track on the album is "Texa-To-The-Nyc," which was aired on the popular U.S. radio program "Swey In The Morning" in 2022. The first edition of "Hip Hop 50th Anniversary 90s Vibes" includes DJ performances that were aired several times on the radio program. KOU started his career in his hometown of Shinjuku, Tokyo in the mid 90's. In the late 90's, he won many titles at DJ contests in Japan and abroad. As a beat maker, DJ, and turntablist who manipulates turntables as a musical instrument, he has collaborated with many musicians in Japan and abroad. He has participated as a DJ in the works of World Famous artists such as Nujabes, Planet Asia, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Shing02. In 2013, he released his 1st ALBUM "My Whole Life" from KADOKAWA with over 30 artists from Japan and abroad. Since then, he has released 3 ORIGINAL ALBUMs and 1 COLLABORATION ALBUM. As a producer, he has been asked by TV Asahi and others to provide music for TV broadcasts, and has DJ'd in New York, Chicago, Korea, Taiwan, San Francisco, and many other foreign countries. In 2020 and 2021, his DJ play was aired several times throughout the U.S. on the popular radio program "Swey In The Morning," and in 2022, his song "Texa-To-The-Nyc" was aired on the same radio program.
