Revisiting the history of Rock 'n' Roll as only Van Morrison can because he is Van Morrison. The man who has seen it all has reinterpreted + reconstructed Rock 'n' Roll, following Skiffle. The full story is finally revealed!
It is no surprise that Van Morrison has made a rock 'n' roll-inspired album. His love of the genre dates back to his childhood in post-war Belfast, when he first experienced the exciting sounds of early 20th century blues and rock and roll through records and radio. Listening to artists such as Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, and the Everly Brothers, it wasn't long before Van led his own band at a local live music venue to intuitively reinterpret these sounds.
In the decades since then, Van Morrison has rethought and reimagined classic songs, constantly channeling his energy into expanding and challenging tradition. The album includes such classics as "Lonesome Train," "Shakin' All Over," and "Flip, Flop And Fly," along with great arrangements, musicianship, and Van's inimitable voice.
