Beethoven's arias sung by Henri Rice! Her performances as Sophie in Strauss' \"Der Rosenkavalier\" at the Bavarian State Opera and the soundtrack of the film \"Parfum\" by Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra have been a hit, and her first release for ONYX, \"Liaisons\" (ONYX 4068), was praised as \"top class\" by the BBC Music Magazine. Chen Reiss, an operatic soprano from Israel, was acclaimed by BBC Music Magazine as \"one of the best\". Following her previous releases on the themes of \"The Nightingale\" and \"The Rose\" (ONYX 4104), this third ONYX release commemorates the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth with an ambitious program of Beethoven's operatic and concert arias. Behold Beethoven sung by a remarkable soprano with a pure high register and a flexible, rich voice that is sought after by opera houses around the world! Another important point is that she is performing with the Ancient Chamber Orchestra (Academy of Ancient Music\/AAM), a prestigious British period orchestra led by the virtuoso Richard Egarr.
