The ensemble is composed of Giuseppe Malletto, who was a main member of Concerto Italiano and La Venexiana, Rossana Bertini, Francesca Cassinari, Daniele Carnovici, and other famous singers in the world of classical music, This release commemorates the 450th anniversary of Claudio Monteverdi's birth! One of the greatest masterpieces in the history of church music, Monteverdi's "Evening Prayer of the Virgin Mary" was born during a major turning point in music history and church music, and remains a work of great mystery. This new recording is the result of Giuseppe Mallette's long performance experience and his meticulous attention to detail in the choice of instruments, pitch, and tempo, and is performed by the vocal ensemble Cantica Sinfonia, led by Giuseppe Mallette, and the ancient wind ensemble La Venexiana and regular members of the Cantica Sinfonia. The recording features the vocal ensemble "Cantica Sinfonia" led by Giuseppe Maretto, and "La Pifaresca," an old-time wind and percussion ensemble consisting of regular members of La Veneziana and Cantica Sinfonia.Glossa is proud to present "Evening Prayer of the Blessed Virgin Mary", one of the biggest albums to celebrate the Monteverdi Anniversary Year in 2017!
