This video shows the 2018 Chicago Lyric Opera production of Gluck's \"Orfeo e Euridice,\" a work that premiered in 1762 and became a banner for opera reform. The Paris version was adopted for this production, with many ballet parts, and Orfeo, sung by a castrato in the Vienna premiere, was rewritten as a tenor. The highlight of this production is that world-renowned choreographer John Neumeier has choreographed, directed, staged, costumed, and lit the entire production in collaboration with the Chicago Joffrey Ballet.
