In 1998, the group recorded the solo piano version of Wagner's version (piano: Noriko Ogawa), which was highly acclaimed by the small chorus and a best-selling BCJ disc, and now the group has brought it back to BCJ with a splendid lineup of soloists: Anne-Helen Moen, Marianne Beate-Keyrant, Alan Clayton, and Neil Davis. The BCJ is pleased to announce a recording of the original Ninth with the BCJ's orchestral and choral forces, featuring the splendid soloists Anne-Helen Moen, Marianne Beate-Keyrant, Alan Clayton, and Neil Davis. Masaaki Suzuki's skillful control of the orchestra maintains a sense of tension while the lively tempo keeps the performance propulsive.The result is a substantial album that reaffirms BCJ's outstanding technique and rich expressive power. The recording was done by Hans Kipfer, a longtime BCJ recording artist.
