In 1974, after a tour of \"Brain Salad Surgery\", the band went on hiatus. After touring with \"Brain Salad Surgery\" released in 1974, the band went on hiatus and the three members began working on solo albums. Three years later, in 1977, the band released a new album, \"ELP Quartet (Works Volume 1),\" and started the \"Works Tour 1977\" with a 65-member orchestra and choir. The remaining two months were spent touring as a trio. The concert in Memphis, Tennessee on November 20 of the same year was recorded for the popular American radio program \"King Biscuit Flower Hour\" to promote the album, but the material from that day was not used. With the discovery of the master tapes from the original broadcast, the show has been re-mastered to the best of the current state and is now being released. The setlist of the day included 17 songs, including medleys and encores, and this live album is a complete recording of the show. This live performance captures EL\u0026amp;P's final brilliance as a progressive rock band, and the trio's ultimate technical performance can be enjoyed in its entirety.
