World's first SACD release! Newly reissued from the original analog master tapes in Japan for this release. New commentary included.\n\n\n\nKlemperer had recorded this No. 7 with the Philharmonia Orchestra on the EMI label in 1955 and 1960, and again in 1968, the last year of his life, on his own. Although Klemperer's ultimate intention in recording this piece again is unknown, this disc has great value to fans as one of his ultimate achievements, even if the tempo and texture are different from his earlier performances. In this reissue, along with the original coupling, Klemperer's version of Rameau, the sound quality has been mastered from a musical standpoint to surpass the previous disc as well. We hope you will enjoy this valuable album with a new commentary by Noboru Kawase. The master was digitized at 192kHz\/24bit from the original analog master tapes in the original country for this release, and mastered separately for the SACD and CD layers. New commentary is included. This is a permanent preservation disc.\n\n\n\nThis Beethoven recording is known even among fans as a kind of special sound source, and is said to have been realized at Klemperer's insistence. EMI already had two recordings of the same piece, and since one of the older discs was used as the complete Beethoven: Symphonies by Klemperer, it was not usually included in the complete Beethoven cycle, and in most cases it was released alone (CD release was also delayed). Therefore, the SACD version has not been released either.There are various theories as to why Klemperer insisted on the re-recording (Noboru Kawase mentions it in the commentary), and differences from the previous 1960 recording have been pointed out. On the other hand, Klemperer's playing in his later years tended to be slower, and his overall performance was quite different from the previous recordings. This may be a point of difference in evaluation, but it is clear that this is a valuable recording in that it is the final sound source that Klemperer dared to preserve. The recording has benefited from EMI's recording quality more than the old one, making it a suitable source for this high sound quality recording. Rameau, on the other hand, was so pleased with this piece the previous year that Klemperer arranged it himself and performed it live several times. Before this recording in October 1968, Klemperer performed this piece on the third day of a series of live performances with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra during the Vienna Art Week, before Bruckner's 5th Symphony (sound recording available on TESTAMENT).\n\n(1\/2)\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"TOWER RECORDS DEFINITION SERIES","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51598182318369,"sku":"4943674420919","price":162.0,"currency_code":"DKK","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0568\/8482\/2076\/files\/4943674420919.jpg?v=1755223273","url":"https:\/\/cdsvinyljapan.com\/en-dk\/products\/4943674420919","provider":"CDs Vinyl Japan Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
