This album, more than half of which are world premiere recordings, contains variations in a genre that was widely popular when she was active and in which Falanch herself excelled. The theme of the opening piece is attributed to her husband, the flutist Aristide, and other variations on Rossini's \"Cenerentola\" include a variation on the melody \"Gone, O Sorrow\" and a variation on a Swiss folk song, both highly technical and fascinating works. Maria Stratigoux, who will be performing, is a researcher of Louise Falanques and received her doctorate for her dissertation on the Opus Exercises. She has performed and lectured on Falanques' works throughout Europe and has received numerous awards.
