Blomstedt is so fascinated with Symphony No. 40 that he says, \"The 40th symphony expresses all the dark aspects of the inner life of human beings,\" and in this performance, he constructs a passionate image of Mozart in a neat expression. In No. 41, the magnificent fugue in the last movement is the highlight. No. 39, with its soft atmosphere and gorgeousness, is a performance typical of Blomstedt, who has not lost his youthfulness despite his advancing age.
