After World War II, he became a naturalized Belgian citizen and became active internationally, teaching young musicians and organizing the Brussels Solisten (later renamed the Ysaye String Ensemble), for which he is known as a conductor and soloist. Since his first visit to Japan in 1980, he has made frequent visits to Japan, winning many fans. This 3-CD set includes concertos from the Baroque and Romantic periods, including a performance of a piece that is being presented here for the first time, and her beautiful sound, characterized by a generous vibrato and graceful expression, is sure to capture the hearts of listeners throughout the ages. She also performs with her French pianist husband, Jeanty, in the Vitali and Vanhal.
