Nothing could better describe the qualities of Purcell's solo singing than these words.Toshiharu Nakajima (Kauter Tenor) graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts, completed postgraduate studies at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and the Graduate School of Lieder and Oratorio at the Vienna State University of Music, and completed postgraduate studies at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Lives and works in Amsterdam, and is active as a soloist in oratorios and operas in Europe and elsewhere. She is a recipient of the 2009 Rohm Music Foundation Scholarship and a recipient of the Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Study Program for Emerging Artists. She has received the Kyoto City Special Encouragement Prize for Arts and Culture, the Shiga Prefecture Next Generation Culture Award, and the Gotoh Memorial Culture Award for Newcomers to Opera.
