Description:

The joy of singing: 17th-century Italian works by Kobayashi Yu. The first half of the program features a series of solo soprano works by five Italian composers of the 17th century. The first half of the program features secular love songs, while the second half features songs with a religious character. Yu KOBAYASHI won the second prize at the 33rd Bruges International Old Music Competition (the highest prize ever awarded to a vocalist). She was also awarded the Jury's Encouragement Prize at the International Old Music Competition . Her performance was highly acclaimed by Mr. Wieland Kuijken, and her recital series "La Voix" started in 2005, and each recital series has been highly acclaimed and supported. This is a live recording of the 5th "La Voix V" held in 2015, including all the encore pieces. The two bass players are virtuosos on the bass clef, and the baroque singing is delicate and exquisite.
