Like Debussy, he was strongly influenced by Mussorgsky, creating a curious acoustic. Furthermore, the world of exquisite beauty that fades into the elegant melancholy of Chausson is fascinating and makes you feel as if you have discovered a treasure. Gustave Samazouille (1877-1967) is famous for his piano arrangements of works by Debussy and Ravel, but his original works also have an appealing, dense style that combines Impressionism with Wagnerian influences.
