He was invited by Sergio Mendes to join the Bossa Rio Sextet as his \"sword in the heart\" and attracted attention as a player of the jazz samba movement. His reputation spread beyond the seas, and world-famous musicians such as Michel Legrand, Lalo Schifrin, Burt Bacharach, and Ray Conniff began to call on him. His craftsmanship and exceptional taste, which passed through northeastern-derived baianese and Brazilian mellowness, have been highly acclaimed even in later years.\n\n\n\nAs the title suggests, this is his leader album released in 1981, a collection of gems of rare grooves produced in the wind of crossover.This five-piece band, which invited renowned session musicians such as Gilceu Medeiros (dr.) and Humberto Bormikal (key.), is more jazz fusion than the Azimuths of the same period, and the content allows the audience to feel the competition between the players more closely.
