Gugnin has built his reputation on works by Shostakovich (PCDA68267\/CDA68267) and Scriabin (PCDA68355\/CDA68355) in his native Russia, as well as on an album in homage to Godowsky (PCDA68310\/CDA68310). This time, however, Gugnin will perform a slightly different collection of Grieg's emotionally rich works with a well-honed sensibility. Andrei Gugnin won the second prize at the Beethoven International Competition in Vienna in 2013, and was the winner of the Gina Bachauer International Competition in 2014 and the Sydney International Competition in 2016.In 2019, she won a special prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition and quickly rose to star status. After two successful performances in Japan in the same year, she will visit Japan again in 2023, although her December visit was unfortunately cancelled due to illness.
