Four years in the making, \"Making A Door Less Open\" is the result of a creative collaboration between Will Toledo and drummer Andrew Katz of 1Trate Danger, another electronic music-leaning project. During the production process, the band recorded the album twice, once with live recordings of guitars, drums, and bass, and a second time using only synthesizer sounds in a MIDI environment.The mixing process gradually combined the two, using elements of both, and was created using the multiple recording technique of overdubs.
