For this album, Larduret has undertaken a remarkable four-volume recording project of Ravel's solo piano works, based on the original editions annotated by Ravel's direct disciple, Vlad Perlemuterre, during his close collaboration with Ravel.These scores offer valuable insights into the interpretation of tempo, pedaling, phrasing, timbre, etc. Lardure, who studied under Carlos Cebro, a student of Perlemuterre, takes the first step in this very feat of embodying Ravel's spirit and interpretive style in the modern age.
