The first Asian winner of the Paganini International Competition, Lu Siqing, a violin prodigy born in China, presents a collection of violin masterpieces on SACD hybrid disc. Born in China in 1969, Lu Siqing studied at the Menuhin Conservatory in 1981 at the age of 11. In 1987, at the age of 17, he won the first prize at the 34th Paganini International Competition, the first Asian to do so. In 1990, he entered the Juilliard School, where he studied under the tutelage of Dorothy DeLay to pursue his own unique tone.They performed Chinese drums and Zigoinelwaizen with their excellent and stable technique, and Wieniawski's legendary pieces and Tchaikovsky's melodies are played with emotional tones. The main piece, the violin concerto "Liang Shan Bo and Shu Ying Tai" - Butterfly Lovers, was performed by Vanessa May and has become known around the world, and is now a familiar piece in figure skating.
