Spanish pianist Daniel Garcia's high-level trio fuses his roots with a variety of music, from flamenco to classical and even a glimpse of the Tigran sound! Daniel Garcia's music is rooted in the folk and flamenco music of his hometown of Castilla y León, as well as his classical studies at the Conservatory in his home country, and later at Berklee College of Music where he studied jazz with Danilo Perez. He also studied rock, electronic music, Middle Eastern music, Cuban music, medieval music, and Gregorian chant. The songs are mainly originals and one traditional piece by Spanish guitarist Paco de Lucia." Dream Of Mompou" was inspired by Spanish composer Federico Mompou's "Musica Callada" and "Dream Of Miles" by Miles Davis' "Solea" from his Sketches Of Spain. The band's high level of technique allows them to play a variety of musical styles. The high level of technique and the variety of musical elements are beautifully fused together. The band's musicality ranges from flamenco-influenced numbers to classical and rock-like sounds. The songs are diverse, but all of them are based on the music of Spain, where Daniel's musical roots lie, and his solid musicality is evident. Tracks 4 and 10, which feature a flute, have powerful piano riffs with a sense of speed, and also have metallic elements similar to Tigran Hamassian's music.Drummer Michael Olivera, who is also a member of Alfredo Rodriguez's band, provides rhythmic support for the varied tunes. This piano trio work fuses diverse genres with Spanish music at its core!
